Disabled parking space schemes

Reason for annoyance:

"Why should the disabled get all the best parking spaces?"

by Mercool McCaber

About Disabled parking spaces scheme:

I'm not looking for a war of words with Britain's disabled here, but this scheme really needs changing.

Fact is, that these "blue-badges" are handed out willy-nilly to a group of people other than those with mobility trouble: and that's the bone idle.

Furthermore, the badges themselves are often passed around friends and relatives. The original holder of some of these badges has died.

I don't mind disabled spaces in "proper" car-parks being right outside the front door, but I despise those on-street spaces reserved exclusively for the use of blue-badge holders. They are invariably unused whilst the rest of us hunt around trying to find spaces in even the smaller towns and cities.

I suggest they scrap the entire scheme and use the money saved to pay for taxis.

FACT: Disabled parking space schemes are more irritating than Chris Moyles but less irritating than Simon Cowell
