Fuel Tax

Reason for annoyance:

"Its too damn expensive!"

by Glenda

About Fuel Tax:

Firstly I'd like to say that I'm not one of those eejits who think the chancellor is stealing all my hard earned cash to spend on his luxury yacht, but I do think the fuel tax policy needs some adjustment.

Ok, we all know that the price of oil has doubled in the last 12 months and this obviously increases fuel prices, but since the treasury charges VAT on both the fuel and the Duty on the fuel (!) they are now generating significantly more tax revenues from fuel that they were a year or two ago. Plus, the chancellor has raised Duty by 4p per liter in the last year and plans another 2p rise in the autumn!

How can they possibly justify this increase in revenue from fuel when people are struggling to afford it anyway?

Outrageous I say.

FACT: Fuel Tax is more irritating than The Smoking Ban but less irritating than Middle Lane Hoggers

You may also find Total and Contractors irritating.

governments need to constantly increase taxes one way or another with the current financial system to service government debt and pay the interest to banks, although conversely, governments give banks the right to charge them interest on the debt...let's not feel sorry for banks anymore, we should ask the government to reduce their own pay in recognition of the incompetence they show us each day.

What idiot said no? the govrment already makes billions of VAT that it gets on fuel, especial with the rising prices, and they make billions more every year by added fuel tax!

Fuel Tax provides an excellent buffer to the shocks of the oil market - the reason there's more uproar in other countries about the increase in the cost of fuel is that a smaller tax take has meant that the price has increased by a comparitively larger percentage than ours!

To reduce the price of fuel is simple - just stop using so much of it. The average fucking idiot on the road could save 30-40% just by ceasing driving like a dickhead.

Why not try getting off your fat arses and walking somewhere?

And we should make it illegal for parents to drive their children to school. It's ridiculous. They double-park on street corners and generally cause chaos and real danger to any small people (such as children) nearby. Despite what they read in the Daily Mail they should be aware that there is much more chance their kids will get run over by a Chelsea Tractor than some paedo abduct them on their way to school.
