Howard (from Halifax adverts)

Reason for annoyance:

"Seriously, do I need one?"

by Shameer

About Howard (from Halifax adverts):

He hasn't actually done anything to me directly. I don't even bank with the Halifax. But all the chalkboards in the world being scratched, all the biting of a rouge sand grain in your sandwich and all automatic telephone systems that take round in circles would pale to the Olympus Mons sized anoyance this man causes me in the brief seconds he's on TV. Its genetic. Some people like sprouts, some don't. If this man was a sprout, by now I would have paid my lifes wages (and more) to have him smuggled onto a NASA deep space probe.

Howard Sebastian Brown is an employee of HBOS plc, which own both Bank of Scotland and Halifax Bank (previously the Halifax Building Society) in the United Kingdom. He was born in Sheldon, Birmingham, England.

FACT: Howard (from Halifax adverts) is more irritating than Jade Goody but less irritating than Free Tibet protesters

You may also find Janet Street Porter , Alistair Darling , Gordon Brown and Piers Morgan irritating.

A Little Extra Help

It seems the Halifax have gone back to their age old slogan "A little extra help" in place of Andy Hornby's jazzy 'Always giving you extra'.

Is that because they are no longer in a position to give me extra, and instead require 'A little Xtra help' themselves, perhaps from Alistair Darling et al.

Not so smug now, are we Howard? I heard you got fucked up the arse by a horse!

What absolute rot - Howard certainly hasn't been 'eliminated' by his employer, and makes a guest appearance on their latest current account advert (on a surf board).

Interestingly (?!) though the 'cartoon Howard' that appeared in an earlier series of ads wasn't voiced by Howard himself, but by a voice-actor with a stronger Brummie accent.

Who gives you extra?

Howard doesn't exist any more... he was 'eliminated' and now only an animated character exists. I know this because he doesn't appear in the HBOS Outlook address book any more.
